Maddy turned 1

Can someone please tell me where the time went?

She really wasn't sure what to do with that cupcake. She never did finish eating it. Kaity, Abby, and I sure have been enjoying them.

Her favorite present came from Grandma Margaret, which I must admit is very cute. I hooked it up to the computer to program it to say Maddy. Super Cute...It just upsets me that I found some awesome wooden toys from France and Germany from Oompa toys (check side column) but she's more interested in this electronic, made in China, but snuggly dog.

I hope I don't forget how sweet she was. I don't remember much of Kaity or Abby's infancy. Madelyn truly is one of the most precious babies...EVER. She's so cuddly, loves to give hugs and kisses. She learned super early and gives the best.

Happy Birthday Maddy Moo!

Chocolate Chips

Apani saw a bag of chocolate chips sitting on the counter.

She KNEW she wasn't allowed to have any at that time.

With some quick thinking, she cleverly managed to eat some without getting into trouble.

Maddy was sitting in front of this cabinet, looking at the tupperware. I was occupied with dirty dishes, cooking, and unaware of the mischeif taking place just feet away me. Maddy loves to share and just yesterday, Maddy was sharing those same chocolate chips.

Apani KNEW if she gave them to Maddy, Maddy would offer her some.
She KNEW that I wouldn't yell at Maddy.
And I guess she thought she couldn't get in trouble for graciously accepting what was offered to her. Or she thought she could outsmart me. Either way, all I could do was laugh. Afterall, watching them bond over chocolate was the cutest scene ever! I rather her do it that way, then sneak them into her mouth and deny it with chocolate stained cheeks.

These were taken yesterday when Maddy first found them hidden in the cabinet.

New Cookie Recipe

You have to go to my other blog, Lemon Ricotta Cookies for the recipe.

I love the taste, but I'm not sure how I like the texture. You'll find out why when you read the other post. I'm bringing some for Visiting Teaching, so Kristin and Melanie, you have to tell us if you like them!

Two steps

Maddy took two steps today! I don't think she realized what she was doing. She saw something she wanted so without thinking, she went after it. I doubt she will be walking anytime soon, but who knows. Yay, Madelyn!!

Coupons ... of all sorts

El's job has been more than frugal with hours lately. It's the off season so to accommodate all the employees, shifts are scarce. So I'm learning to become frugal myself. I'm quite the coupon clipper! With school and Fall approaching, the girls are in need of too much. Not so much Abby because she gets Kaity's clothes (though despite my reminding him of this, El always buys her new clothes anyway), but shoes she'll need.

Here's a code for $10 off your $10 purchase from JC Penney.
JC Penney Just bought their shoes!

For groceries and toiletries, my favorite site is the extensive A Full Cup This site has nearly every coupon out there. This site is awesome, it combines all the coupons sites AND it's searchable. Unfortunately, not all of them are printable, but if it isn't it tells you where they were found. Before the weekly shopping, I always check here. If I can't find a coupon there, I check the manufacturers' websites.

I've also learned that CVS is awesome. Though, I don't shop there. I wish I could, but it's too far of a walk with three kids, but definitely manageable with a friend (hint, hint). And there's a park across the street, so I don't know why I don't go there. Maybe this week we'll give it a try. Check out I heart CVS. It's a tutorial on how to save BIG at CVS.

For picture printing...go Walgreens, check out the sales this week. Last week, I got 40 prints for $3.

I'm always looking for more, so please share if you have!

It's Thursday

You know what that means??

Old Navy is giving out more coupons tonight!!

We went shopping Tuesday and they were having an amazing sale! I also had a 25% off coupon so when we hit 100, I stopped the order and did a separate one.

For $59 we bought the girls their entire wardrobe and some...
2 pairs of jeans
2 sweats
2 leggings
2 skirts
13 shirts! That’s less than $3 an item!

Good Luck guys! Hope you can get one...Hope I can get another one...it would be nice to get some clothes for me now :)

SCORE!!!

I just got home from TJs with Melanie (thanks Melanie!) and checked my email. There was something from Modelquin Kelly. She gave me a coupon for $75 off your $100 purchase at Old Navy!!!!! My mom said, "Now you can get some new clothes." I thought, oh yea. I never think about myself. I was thinking about buying Kaity and Abby some new stuff for school.

Anyway,
Here's how you can get one too.

Sign up for TWITTER. And follow Modelquin Kelly. When she posts the item of the week, you tweet it. Just copy and paste! I don't know if you can still get one this week, but next Thursday you can!

If you haven't, check out the post before this tooOld Navy Post

AWESOME!! Have you seen this?

Old Navy Weekly

I really don't know what I'm doing but I found an OK coupon. 10% off entire purchase.

Every Thursday, the site is updated. You click around looking for coupons. You only get one coupon so don't print it til you find a good one...like the $75 off $100!! Coupons are limited and can be shared with one person via facebook. Have fun searching! :)

UPDATE:
So I waited til near midnight for the site to be updated. Every 15 minutes, I refreshed the page. LOL! There were only about 1000 $75 coupons and they were gone in 10 minutes! I knew where it was, but the page wasn't loading properly and by time it did, they were gone. I'm sure it drives a ton of traffic! I did score a 25% off your purchase, which is helpful. We have a new season to shop for these ever growing kids! Anyway, if you want to score this coupon, there are still plenty left. Click on the pink shirt in the far most box and drag it to the modelquin in the blue/green shirt.

size really does matter

Unlike your normal babies who enjoy their purees, Maddy has to have texture to her food. I dice all her food and she always goes for the biggest pieces OR she wants what's on my plate.

The power of suggestion

Kaity and Abby are so used to having yummy smoothies that now I can pretty much give them anything....

Case in point: Spinach Smoothies

Now I LOVE spinach, but this was pretty bad. I told them to try it first and it would be ok if they didn't like it. After saying that I realized it was stupid but surprisingly, Kaity liked it! Abby didn't. So with quick thinking, I put in some black raspberries, just enough to change the color from green to a purple. Voila! She liked it!

Maddy's Best Compliment

As I prepared the bath yesterday morning, I realized that I bought lotion rather than body wash. So last night after the girls were cozy in bed, I put Maddy in my sling and walked to Rite Aid.

I walked passed a young woman patiently waiting on line. I don't know why, but this Rite Aid always has a long line. Looking at me and in a thick Russian accent, she squealed, "So Cute!" I quickly picked up the baby shampoo and stood on line, behind that same woman. She turns and gives Maddy a big smile and tells me, "Oh my goodness! She's so adorable! I could eat her for breakfast...dinner AND lunch!"

I'm a proud mama. I wish I could take credit, but she looks nothing like me.
