Walking and Talking

My baby isn't a baby anymore.

I don't know if this counts, she can walk if she wants to. She only chooses to walk if someone is close enough or sitting on the floor. In fact, she LOVES walking. Especially if two people are on the floor. She'll go back and forth over and over again. She can totally walk, I've counted over 20 steps, she just needs to gain some confidence. She's so afraid of falling!

And she's beginning to form her first words. Many of these words sounds similar but she gives each word a distinct and very specific tone.

Her first words:
Grandma
Grandpa
Kaity
Abby
More
Bath
Again
Kitty
Teddy
and of course, Daddy.

Did you notice Mommy isn't listed :*(

a sincere form of flattery

It's been 13 months and I still haven't lost any pregnancy weight. So getting dressed every day is so depressing. I had about 10 minutes before we had to leave for church this morning when I caught a quick glimpse of myself in the mirror. I said, "I think I'm gonna change." Kaity disappointingly gasps and says, "Huh?! No, don't change. You look perfect!" Even if I had holes and a stain on my dress, I wouldn't have changed after a comment like that! Thank you Kaity for making me feel so beautiful!

Yummy!

I made Cherry Almond Muffins yesterday afternoon. It's barely 8am the following day and there's only 4 left! That's how good they are! So go check out that recipe!

What was your favorite part of the day?

If you're not familiar with Dora the Explorer, let me tell you that at the end of every episode, in yet another attempt to involve the kids with the show, she asks the question, "What was your favorite part of the day?"

Abby, Maddy, and I just dropped Kaity off at school and came home to wait til it was time to take Abby who starts at 11:30. Maddy was occupied with some toys so I thought, let me get a head start on dinner. So as I'm crying while I chop the onions, I hear Dora ask her "audience" that question. Apani says, "Ummmm, going to school." :)

She LOVES school! She asks all morning what time her class starts. She wants to go "Right now!" Every day she leaves with a big smile on her face. And YOU were so worried!

Oh Man!

Apani starts Pre-K tomorrow! I pray she enjoys it. I hope she thrives, though I'm afraid she'll be a loner and miserable. She doesn't like people, so I'm worried. But excited...I'm thinking it will be one of two extremes and I hoping for the positive.

I can't believe how fast my babies are growing! Maddy is 1 and Kaity and Abby are in school!!

3, check, 1, check, 2, check? 2?? 2?!

We walked out of the office today. Hands full, holding the door letting the girls out while simultaneously trying to pull the stroller through, I feel like I'm in shambles. I turn my head both ways for a head count and can't find Apani.

"Abby?"
I turn back to Kaitlyn, "Where's Abby?"
"I'm right here."
"Oh I didn't see you."
And casually she responds, "That's because I was behind your big butt."

A rough few days

Monday was full of tantrums from Maddy and Apani. Apani has been trying my patience and putting me through hell. We were doing well for awhile but suddenly the tantrums are just horrible again.

Maddy has been super attached lately (I wonder if it's because I'm trying to ween her?).

So, of course, to make my life more stressful, or I mean eventful, messes are worse than ever and more often. At least it seems that way. Maybe it's because I just can't clean them right away or maybe there really are more messes, who knows.

After sweeping up dirt from a fallen house plant, sweeping up fish, then pretzels, wiping spilled milk, I gave Kaity a bowl of rice. Immediately, it spills on the leather couch. Maddy was on the floor playing and for once in the day, not glued to my hip. SO I thought, great, let's clean this up. I run to the kitchen, grab towels and the leather cleaner. I was two steps away from the living room, having been gone no longer than 2 minutes when I hear Maddy burst out in screams. When I pick her up (she was between the wall and a table) she had a bump on her eyebrow, a scratch down her face, a bump under her nose, and a busted bruised lip! I have no idea how she managed but the poor thing looked so sad. And I have no idea how she managed to not hurt her eye which was literally surrounded by scratches.

The day before she fell hard too, no bruises from that one thankfully.

Dinner, tonight was a total failure.

And all I keep thinking about is the move. AHHHHHHHHHH, I'm not ready!!!!

And by the way, now you know why they still drink juice and milk from sippy cups. You may call me lazy, I prefer to think of myself as smart.
